The Happing Area consists of the small market town of Stalham together with its surrounding villages. The name ‘Happing’ comes from the old Happing Hundred, the administrative division of the area bounded by the rivers Ant and Thurne from the 10th to 19th century.
The Partnership has extended the original area to include the villages shown on the map.
With a total population in the area of over 17,000 people, the Partnership supports over 200 individual members and more than 100 small businesses. The Happing Shop itself is run by Co-ordinator Mike Castle, ably assisted by a team of nine volunteers.
